About

A little information about the girl behind the blog, why the blog and what the hell is a blog anyway?

Hello there, fellow bloggers! So I must have kept you interested enough for you to be curious about 'Madi'. Shock horror, Madi is not my full name. It's Madison. Hi there!
I'm currently a college student and dream of being a writer in any form. This blog is intended to keep me writing, help me improve my writing style and 'voice', and also to get my writing out into the world.
The following are some random questions you may have wanted to ask me and some questions that you probably never dreamed of asking me... Either way, if there is anything you're still curious about don't be afraid to contact me and ask.

Why did you choose to call your blog 'Let it be Madi'?
There's three reasons. Firstly, I am a big fan of The Beatles and my favourite song is 'Let it be'. Secondly, I am a bit of a worrier/dweller: I tend to obsess over little problems in my life. Writing has always been very therapeutic and instead of christening my blog with SUMO (Shut Up, Move On) Madi; I decided to title it with another wise mantra: let it be. Thirdly, 'Let it be Madi' sounds like a nice greeting or introduction to others. Like - Dd ddd ddd daaaaa [fanfair sound], Let it be... MADI! Hey, stop smirking, it works for me...

What other activities occupy your time, other than blogging?
Apart from the obvious (college), I love hanging around with my friends. Cheesy, I know, but they're so funny and I owe a lot of my best life experiences to the crazy lot. I also love being creative in any way, including photography, photoshopping, movie-making, scrapbooking, collaging and drawing. I am not lucky enough to own a professional camera, but thankfully my Grandad does and he lets me borrow it from time to time. Most of the time I just take my trusty digital camera along for the ride and edit the photos in photoshop. My weakness is online shopping, especially eBaying. I don't always spend, though - I earn a bit of money by selling some of my things on eBay, which you can check out here.

Do you only write on this blog?
I previously had another blog, but it was more picture based and wasn't focused on the writing so I decided to create this one. I have a diary, and write novels and poetry. Last year I won the college's first ever Poetry competition, of which I am immensely proud. I also had a poem published in Wordsmith Magazine during secondary school, and some more published in an anthology when I attended a writing workshop. I had work experience with my local newspaper last year and really enjoyed it, and I am currently creating my own magazine. I plan to contribute to other blogs with my writing.
